Natasha O’Boyle

Natasha is an enthusiastic, passionate, and ambitious teacher of Science (Chemistry). She is dedicated to transforming student outcomes, with her interactive and approachable style, offering 18 years teaching experience, including 9 years as a supportive and inspirational Leader of Science. With a Chemistry PhD, she also has an extensive post-doctoral research background.

Natasha has a strong proven track record of exceptional results, with significant experience of all major UK and international exam boards. A key strength year on year has always been to help her students develop an inner self-belief and enable them to overcome any learning challenges, to become confident and competent learners.

Being an examiner for a major exam board has enabled her to deliver cutting edge exam technique when preparing students for GCSE / IGCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and A level Chemistry. Her learning opportunities effectively allow students to secure the top grades, by sharing a wealth of exam success tips, and offering high levels of challenge with support. She encourages her students to use strategies to enhance their long-term memory and support them with independent study.

When learning went online in 2020, it gave her the unique opportunity to adapt her skills and wealth of resources outside of the classroom laboratory. Here, she has loved building a rapport with international students when working one to one and in groups, sharing her passion, and watching them grow in confidence and knowledge. She is committed to providing student-orientated Science tuition, focussed on engagement and progress, whilst cultivating a positive, safe learning environment online.

As head of Science, she developed and implemented effective teaching and learning strategies and a bespoke KS3 and KS4 Science curriculum. Under her Science leadership, the secondary school was consistently graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted at all Key Stages. An expertise on Science curriculum has led her to coach and mentor other leaders, and she now continues this consultancy role, to improve the standards of Science education in schools across the North West of England.

Natasha believes that learning Science and communicating effectively using scientific language, to explain ideas and solve problems in our world, develops a range of transferrable skills, essential for many careers, both now and in the future.
